What’s a giclée? Giclée (pronounced “gee-clay”), from the French word meaning to “squirt” or “spurt,” is a highly sophisticated inkjet printing process that was introduced in the late 1980s. It’s so sophisticated, in fact, that it produces open or limited edition prints which truly capture the artist's original intent. Even museums have realized the vast potential of this technology and have made giclée editions a permanent part of their collections, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art (New York), Museum of Modern Art (San Francisco) and Museum of Contemporary Art (Los Angeles) to name a few.
The prints offered at chomagallery.com are created from high-resolution digital images, using the best quality ink and paper stock available, resulting in color saturation and image detail capture that exceeds other types of image reproduction. Choma giclée prints are generated on seven-color Epson inkjet printers, which are able to produce amazingly detailed prints of works of fine art. Epson Ultrachrome inks are used exclusively, because of their archival quality and true colors. All of this guarantees you a long-lasting museum quality work of art.
Each purchase of a limited edition print includes a Certificate of Authenticity. This certifies the image as an authentic, signed and numbered limited edition giclée print produced from an original and unique work of art. |
